| Teacher's Pet: | Joe was the only one who put any hits together (going 3/4) and won a Powerade gearbag from the LSA for being their man of the match on our team. We probably could have all done with some Powerade ourselves, but the LSA made the right choice at the end of the night. |
| Teacher's Verdict: | A winnable game that slipped away - not the best time to have an off night! And do I hear it rumbling up again...yes, there it is...the age-old Blazzers cry...more batting practice!! |
The first team took to the diamond for the Game of the Week against a weakened Dodder team without the services of the McCarthy brothers. The way we had been playing in recent weeks gave us every hope of a result, especially with a first-choice 10 lining out on our side. Just like the seconds earlier in the week, it was close after the first three innings - with only two runs in it - but that's when the rot set in. We made quite a few errors in the field, which Dodder punished, while our batting never sparked, with most people struggling to find any sort of form. Paddy was carrying an injury into the game and should really have gone off mid-way through, but we didn't have any subs lined up, so he had to struggle on, and must now be a worry not only for us but also for the national team. On the positive side...well, there were great burgers on the barbecue courtesy of Janet Moggerley!!

| Teacher's Pet: | Jason was somebody else's pet as he hit a booming homer for a certain someone. Honourable mention also to Brian, whose offence was good (batting 4/4) but whose defence was just plain offensive! Shelly had a pretty good game on first, but this week's pet is Conor, who put in a customary workmanlike performance in right centre and displayed his usual wheels around the bases. |
| Teacher's Verdict: | If we can play like we did for the first three innings over a full game we'
