After the glory of the 2001 season, when both our teams won their divisions on the last day of the season, this year was always going to be about making sure we stayed up in the divisions they'd just been promoted to! The club had lots of new personnel, so finding a way to get the new players to gel quickly ( no smart comments please! ) was going to be essential.
The 1st team were back were they belonged, in Premier 1. It was a tough season, but they eventually finished 5th in the league, a position guaranteed by beating the three teams that finished beneath them both home and away. The 1sts also got as far as the Quarter Finals in the Cup, before being beaten by Dodder.
The 2nd team had a much tougher season - all those new faces took a while to get to know each other, and too many games were played with only 9 players. Despite their best attempts, and a definite improvement in playing if not in results by the end of the season, the 2nds found themselves in 7th place, and in the dreaded playoffs. But they saved the best 'til last, and beat the Renegades and then the Suspects (both by 1 run!) to keep their Prem 2 status.
